Error message: Download is blocked. Check app settings

In the app there is an option to make sure you do not download any ebooks unless you are on a Wi-Fi internet connection (to ensure users do not accidentally use mobile data they did not wish to use, or incur any costs related to this).

If you are receiving this error message this means that this setting is currently enabled and you are either trying to download an ebook without using a Wi-Fi connection, or the Wi-Fi connection you currently have is unstable or unable to connect.

To resolve the issue and download your ebooks, you either need to connect to a stable Wi-Fi internet connection or you need to deactivate this restriction in the app settings.

To deactivate it, please follow these steps:

  • open the app
  • press the menu icon in the top left
  • press the "Settings" menu option at the bottom of the menu
  • make sure that the "Download ebooks on Wi-Fi only" checkbox is unchecked.
  • press the icon in the top right to exit the settings and return to your bookshelf
