Thorium Reader is free reading software from EDRLab for Windows, Mac and Linux. It opens every ebook you buy from eBooks.com: DRM-free EPUB and PDF files, and DRM-protected books (.lcpl files) using your Reading Key. You don't need an Adobe or ByteBooks account. Should I choose Thorium Reader or Adobe Digital Editions?
To install Thorium Reader first please check the minimum system requirements to make sure that your computer meets the requirements. You can check the latest minimum requirements, and download the software install file from EDRLab's website here:
https://www.thoriumreader.com/download/
Minimum requirements are listed under Frequently Asked Questions > Which devices are compatible with Thorium Reader?
Please note: if you are using Linux you should download from the developer's website and not your distribution's Package Manager as it can cause your Reading Key/LCP Passphrase to not be accepted. See this help article for more information.
If you want to install Thorium Reader on a Chromebook it requires some extra steps. Please see this help article for more information.
Once the download has completed, click on the downloaded setup file to run the install wizard.
Follow the steps on screen until the wizard says that installation is complete.
Here is an example installation on a Windows computer:
Step 1:
Select if you want the Thorium Reader software to be available for every user profile on this computer, or just the current user profile. Once you have made your choice click "Install".
Step 2:
Wait as the installation completes. Once the progress bar reaches 100% it will automatically move to the next step.
Step 3:
Now installation is complete. Click "Finish" to open Thorium Reader straight away.
