If you use the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge web browsers you can install our Online Reader on to your computer as webapp. It will act like a desktop application you can open from a shortcut on your desktop.

Please note: the webapp does not download your ebooks, you will still need an active internet connection to read ebooks from your eBooks.com account.

The installation steps are slightly different depending on the browser you are using, so both options have been included below.

First, open your Chrome or Edge web browser. Then either:

• Open an ebook from your eBooks.com account in the Online Reader, then select the Install icon in the top right of the menu.
• Or if you don't have any ebooks in your eBooks.com account yet, but still want to install the webapp, visit https://reader.ebooks.com/ , then click "Install the Online Reader". 

Then follow the steps in either:

• Install using Chrome
• Install using Edge

Install using Chrome

This box will appear:

Select "Next". Then on the next screen:

You can choose whether to add a shortcut to the Online Reader webapp to your desktop (it will be selected by default). Once you have made your choice select "Install". Then on the next screen:

You can select "Close". If you did install from the Online Reader then the "Open tab in app" will open the same ebook in the webapp. If you installed from reader.ebooks.com then "Open tab in app" will return you to the reader.ebooks.com page where you can then sign in by selecting "Sign in to your eBooks.com library".

Installation is now complete.

Install using Edge

This box will appear:

Select "Install". Then on the next screen:

You can choose one or more of the following options:

• To pin the webapp to your taskbar
• To pin the webapp to your Start menu
• To add a shortcut to the webapp on your Desktop
• To have the webapp launch automatically when your start your computer

Once you have made your choices select "Allow".

Installation is now complete.
