This error can occur if you are using an older version of Adobe Digital Editions. If you are not using version 4.0 or above please update your ADE to the latest version. ADE 2.X is particularly susceptible to this error.

If you have the latest version installed and are still receiving the error, then this means there is an issue with the authorisation of your Adobe Digital Editions software.

To fix the issue you need to first deauthorise Adobe Digital Editions and then authorise it again.
