This is the error you will receive if you try to authorise Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) with an Adobe ID instead of a ByteBooks account.
If you are a long time user of Adobe Digital Editions, you may only have an Adobe ID, and be wondering what a ByteBooks account is. Please see this help article for more information, and for instructions on migrating your Adobe ID to a ByteBooks account.
But to resolve this issue you need to create a ByteBooks account, migrating your Adobe ID to the new account system.
Then you can authorise ADE with this new account and then can download your ebooks as normal.
If after following the instructions you are still having difficulty authorising ADE please contact our support team.
You may also want to consider switching from using Adobe Digital Editions to using Thorium Reader. It is our new recommended ebook reader software for all PC users (except those with e-reader devices that don't support Readium LCP).
