With control of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and the Adobe DRM system now having passed over to ByteBooks (more information here), at some point you will need to change from using an Adobe ID to using a ByteBooks account. Or if you are a new user and have never used ADE before, you will need a ByteBooks account.

To create a ByteBooks please visit their registration page here: https://dtsbytebooks.com/register

On this page you will see the registration form:

Step 1: First enter your First and Last name, and your Country.

Step 2: Then enter your email address. If you have an existing Adobe ID that you want to migrate, make sure the email address you enter exactly matches the email address used for your existing Adobe ID.

Step 3: Now enter your chosen password in both the Password and Confirm Password fields. Please note that this is the password you want to use for your ByteBooks account. It does not need to match the password you used in your Adobe ID.

The password does have to meet ByteBooks criteria:

• At least 8 characters
• At least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
• At least one lowercase letter (a-z)
• At least one number (0-9)

Step 4 (skip if you don't have an Adobe ID to migrate): Once you have done this, if you are migrating an existing Adobe ID, it is very important to check the box that says "I have an existing Adobe account to migrate." (if you don't have an Adobe ID to migrate you can skip this step).

If for some reason the box cannot be checked. Instead go to the login page here: https://dtsbytebooks.com/login

Then click the link at the bottom that says "Register here!" and the checkbox should be selectable.

Step 5: Then check the box that says you agree to their Privacy Policy, then select "Create Account & Verify".

Step 6: The account is not created until you activate your account. ByteBooks will send an email to your email address with a six digit code (a One Time Password / OTP). You need to enter the code and submit the code to complete registration. Please note the code expires after 10 minutes so please be sure to complete this process immediately.
